Cedar Fair announces Shoot the Rapids

Cedar Point is preparing to make a big splash on opening day 2010, with the addition of Shoot the Rapids, a brand new water ride.
Shoot the Rapids will feature a 21-metre drop as well as a smaller, 15-metre drop.
The boats will be similar to those found on Pilgrims Plunge; however, this ride will not feature a vertical lift.
"Shoot the Rapids will instantly become a family favourite", said John Hildebrandt, Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Point.
"Our guests wanted another option to cool off on warm summer days. We listened, and Shoot the Rapids will deliver the perfect combination of refreshment, thrills and new memories at Cedar Point", he added.
IntaRide LLC, the U.S. division of Intamin, will construct Shoot the Rapids. IntaRide was responsible for building Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force.
Shoot the Rapids will cost the park $10.5 million and will be the most expensive water ride ever built at Cedar Point.
