Alton Towers reveals Th13teen's secret

Alton Towers has confirmed that Th13teen will become the world's first roller coaster with a freefalling drop.

However, video footage leaked onto YouTube suggests that the drop will act more like a motion simulator. Instead of a simple drop, the video shows that the ride carriage will move in a more turbulent manner.

Afterwards, guests will be sent flying towards the station -- backwards.

Alton Towers has stated that the ride will be the world's first "psychoaster", adding that the ride will be so scary that various rider restrictions may be imposed.

"Th13teen is a hugely exciting addition to the Alton Towers Resort and demonstrates our commitment to developing the very best thrill attractions in the world", said Morwenna Angove, Sales and Marketing Director at the Alton Towers Resort.

Th13teen is due to open on 20 March.
